Overall/Barrel Length Measuring Device
(Patent Pending)
This device is designed to assist in
uniformly recording measurement of shotguns and rifles.
The fixture is set up so that the top of the firearm
rests perpendicular to the buttstock and the measurement
block can be quickly moved to the tip of the barrel.
This design automatically places the rear of the firearm
in the correct position against the backstop.

The fixtures are 36" long* and
include a removable NIST Certified 36" ruler
(and certificate) for measuring firearms. It is made
from solid aluminum to provide a lifetime of trouble
free
service.

Also included are 3 rods for measuring barrel length.
These rods are made from aluminum and brass and include
an adjustable collet. Simply place the rod in the
barrel and slip the collet to the tip of the barrel.
The design of the collet ensures that it stops at the
furthest point of the barrel thus providing an accurate
measurement. Unevenly cut sawed off barrels are
quickly and accurately measured with this system.
Thumb screws on the collet hold it in place so that it
can be retracted and measured on the measuring board.
Each Measuring Device is made on an
individual basis. Please allow 4 weeks for
delivery.
*Longer measuring fixtures are
available on a custom order basis. E-mail for
pricing.

Stamped Metal Serial Number
Restoration Set
Precision Forensic
Testing has designed a set of metals for use in serial number
restoration.
Traditionally, laboratories use firearms from
their reference collection for serial number restoration training.
This set will provide an alternative method of training/practicing while
ensuring the integrity of laboratory firearms. These can be used
by trainees, interns, and college teaching.
The metals chosen
are similar to those used in the manufacturing of firearms and in
automobile parts (VIN restoration).
The serial numbers
are stamped on the bar stock using an 8 ton OBI press which is the same
equipment used in the firearm industry.
To provide the
maximum value to your laboratory, serial numbers have been stamped on
both sides of the metal. (40 total serial number restorations per
set)
The serial numbers
are intact on the samples. This allows the lab analyst to
determine the method and amount of obliteration.
Hosting a serial
number restoration course or do you have multiple trainees?
