Mr. Monturo's teaching experience includes monthly
instruction of the Evidence Technician Training course where
police officers are taught to document, collect and preserve evidence for
submission to the crime laboratory. He has guest lectured at Sinclair Community College, Ohio University and The Ohio
State Coroners Association. He has also assisted the Bureau of
Alcohol, Tobacco, and Firearms in the instruction of Serial Number
Restoration in Mexico City, Mexico.
In the preparation of the Forensic Educational Kits, local, state, and federal Firearm Examiners
are consulted with to provide
the best laboratory exercises. All of the exercises used in the
labs are based on actual casework and methods currently used in crime
laboratories. The combined decades of experience is passed along
in each lecture and laboratory exercise.
To further enhance the lecture, the Power Points
include short video files from actual firearm and tool manufacturing
plants.
